  • Job Summary

    Aerohive is searching for a Staff Software Engineer to help develop A3, our cloud-enabled Network Access Control (NAC) and Secure Access Management solution. A3 spans a wide range of functionality including authentication, policy compliance and enforcement, device profiling, device management, and integrations with leading firewall and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) products. As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to contribute across the A3 product stack, ranging from cloud-based microservices to on-premises virtual appliances. You will work alongside a strong team of software engineers from Silicon Valley and Hangzhou, China with wide and rich industry experience.



    What You Will Do:


    You will be part of an high-performing agile scrum team that designs, implements, and tests new features and functionality in A3. Development will include innovative technologies in the fields of NAC, Cluster/Cloud Management, Security, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. You will take new features from concept to delivery, working closely with team members and cross-functional partners to design and develop high-quality solutions that take into consideration scalability, availability, and performance. You will also actively participate in design and code reviews for the team.



    Who You Are:



    • 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering
    • Solid computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.)
    • Hands-on programming experience with Java, Javascript, and/or Go
    • Hands-on experience working on resilient, scalable distributed systems
    • Hands-on experience with network security technologies, such as RADIUS authentication systems, firewalls, VPN, and PKI
    • Familiarity and comfort with development in a Linux environment
    • Deep understanding of TCP/IP and its family of protocols including DNS, HTTP, TLS, etc.
    • Desire and willingness to learn new programming languages and paradigms as necessary
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Other Desired Qualifications

    • Experience developing enterprise security/networking products
    • Experience with cloud architecture and related technologies
    • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning as it relates to networking
    • Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and distributed computing
    • Familiarity with the design and implementation of REST APIs
