  • Job Summary

    The Director, System Engineering is responsible for the development and lead a technical team of Sales Engineers in APAC theater. This person is essentially responsible for growing our business in the APAC market, leverage Aerohive Networks solution across partners and key customers. This includes deep technical understanding and professional alligment in new countries, hiring and coaching sales engineers and consistenly achieve company targes and goals.

     

    This role will ensure all sales opportunities and qualifies, technical reviews, building relashionships with key channel, partners, service provides and coordinate appropriate internal and external resourceses to generate and close business opportunities. In addition to overall leadership and management responsibilities, the Director, System Engineering is expected to possess significant technical experience and be capable of individual technical contribution in support of specific sales opportunities.

The Director, System Engineering will report directly to the AVP, Sales (APAC regional leader) and has specific responsibilities and alignment with a defined sales region and its associated teams. 

    Responsibilities

    • 15 years systems engineering experience in the wireless, networking, routing, cloud, SD-Wan, SD-Lan and/or Security space
    • Lead and advocate for the regional SE organization, ensuring high levels of motivation and team effectiveness
    • Assure SE organizational alignment to address regional sales objectives and plans
    • Manage budget and resource planning across the region
    • Drive recruitment, hiring, training and ongoing evaluation of Systems Engineers
    • Deliver direct support to SE teams in complex or challenging customer situations
    • Foster channel partner relationships and assure knowledge transfer and overall collaboration between Aerohive and channel partner SE teams.
    • Provide an escalation point for major pre-sales and post sales technical issues that arise in the territory
    • Build and maintain relationships with key customers in the territory to solidify reference accounts and to assist the account teams in defining plans to drive more business
    • Deliver consolidated weekly reporting to highlight principal customer opportunities, product enhancement requirements, customer satisfaction challenges and overall team engagement
    • Assist with defining/iterating SE and partner training curricula.
    • Interact with Product Management to prioritize feature requests
    • Provide feedback to Aerohive marketing to iterate and refine marketing collateral and messaging
    • Within the context of major accounts, liaise with customer services to assure customer satisfaction
    • Persistent and diligent follow through on cross functional Aerohive SE related initiatives which drive sales success

    Qualifications

    • Manage group of SE across multiple APJC countries, and large scale deployments across multiple countries (50% travel required)
    • Deliver consolidated weekly reporting to highlight principal customer opportunities, product enhancement requirements, customer satisfaction challenges and overall team engagement
    • Assist with defining/iterating SE and partner training curricula
    • Interact with Product Management to prioritize feature requests
    • Provide feedback to Aerohive marketing to iterate and refine marketing collateral and messaging
    • Within the context of major accounts, liaise with customer services to assure customer satisfaction
    • Persistent and diligent follow through on cross functional Aerohive SE related initiatives which drive sales success

    EDUCATION:

    • BS CS/EE or related (or equivalent work experience)
