  • Job Summary

    Aerohive is looking for its Director Supply Chain Operations, based in Milpitas, CA. Our business environment is fast pace, dynamic, and rewarding. We are looking for people with a passion for start-ups and new technologies.


    (listed in order of importance) 


    Planning Management

    • Work with the team that defines, leads and execute S&OP process to align the forecast and buffer across all the functions (Sales, Product Mgt, Finance, Operations)
    • Manage planning and demand forecasting, demand/supply matching, lead time, carrying costs of inventory, inventory valuation, inventory visibility, physical inventory, and replenishment
    • Develop best in class processes for managing new product introduction, product transition, and end of life products
    • Lead collaborative planning processes with key partners
    • Work closely with Order fulfillment to ensure best-in-class process and services are delivered to Aerohive customers (perfect order, lead-times, accuracy, predictability)


    Logistics Management

    • Define, lead and execute Global Logistics Network strategy, including reverse-logistics
    • Manage 3PL partner(s) relationship: contracts, QBR, scorecard, metrics
    • Responsible for analysis and strategic planning of the flow and storage of FGI from point of supplier to point of customer – includes strategic, operational and related tactical duties
    • Analyze strategic network alternatives based on services, cost, inventory and risk considerations
    • Optimize P&L (revenue, cost), balance sheet (inventory) and customer metrics (on time shipment, on time delivery) closely working with Operations, Sales, Sales Ops, PLM and Finance teams.
    • Provide analysis/input on product sourcing decisions relating to product launches and life cycle management


    Freight Management (Inbound/Outbound)

    • Analyze and select transportation scheme and manage various modes of transportation with aim to reduce lead-time and freight cost
    • Identify and manage carrier services, partnerships, and rate negotiations
    • Provide support and leadership to the team that manages our trade compliance

    Procurement and Sourcing

    • Responsible and accountable for procurement and supply planning activities at Aerohive.
    • Help define, lead and execute overall sourcing strategy: key components strategy, and indirect procurement.
    • Assist with the management of Aerohive products’ COGS by working closely with Engineering, Product Management and Support teams; ensure Aerohive will develop mutually acceptable solutions to meet/beat cost target; accountable to meet or beat COGS targets; coordinate and implement Aerohive Cost Reduction Management
    • Manage Total Cost of Ownership (BOM, logistics, IDC, Quality): ODM partners BOM and overall cost structure, component vendors cost.
    • Help negotiating business terms and conditions, as well as pricing with component and accessory suppliers, including all potential development costs (NRE, tooling)


    Manufacturing NPI  

    • Manage, from an Operations point of view, New Product Introduction (NPI), responsible for new product development project execution according to agreed cost, quality, product performance and timetable requirements.
    • Coordinate with engineering, program management and product management/marketing to develop a project plan that releases on schedule, agreed cost, reliable new products that follow the product lifecycle model; manage and oversee critical operational aspects to ensure that NPI has a smooth ramp from prototype to mass production; accountable for ODM manufacturing readiness and NPI ramp capability; primary representative of Operations in cross-functional NPI Core Teams.
    • Influence and escalate issues within Operations and Program Management; provide analytical support and make recommendations regarding scheduling, materials, capacity planning, and manufacturability; prepares periodic status reports for Leadership.


    • 5 or more years of management experience required. 2 levels of management experience highly desirable.
    • In-depth knowledge of planning, supply chain, fulfillment, inventory management, procurement, and NPI manufacturing, logistics systems and best practices, combining with in-depth understanding of S&OP processes and logistics outsourcing.
    • In depth knowledge of ERP systems required
    • Previous Sales Operations experience, dealing with channel, will be a definitive advantage
    • Experienced with proven process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, TPS, Lean and Kaizen
    • Recent business process experience will be a definitive advantage: forecast to delivery; order to cash
    • Demonstrated strategy definition and implementation, leading to tangible results
    • Effective collaboration in cross-functional teams and can drive results with outsource partners.
    • Experience leading and influencing people and working effectively across functions and across business cultures (Asia and Europe).
    • Effective project management, negotiation, contract management and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills; able to identify variables, gather and analyze information, develop alternatives, and resolve issues in a timely manner.




    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Engineering/Technical degree, and 10+ years of related experience or Master's degree with 7+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
